Tragic Loss on the Homestead: 3 Chickens Dead

I told Josh that Penny was the only one I could see alive that was injured and that we needed to get her out of the coup and run area asap since the other chickens had begun to peck at her wounds (chickens will peck at anything red, especially blood).  Since Penny had been with us for 3 years and she was 1 of my pets, I started to panic, shout and cry when the other chickens started pecking at her more when she tried to get a drink of water.  She just cowered her head down and walked to the corner trying to hide her head.
